Global Medical Safety and Risk Solutions (GMSRS), through its specialized division Medevac Africa, successfully conducted a medical evacuation from a Bulk Carrier vessel off the coast of Cape Town on the night of 31 January 2025. Medevac Africa is the dedicated business unit within GMSRS that focuses on specialized medical evacuation and rescue operations across challenging environments.

A coordinated response was initiated following a medical emergency onboard. Given the complexity of the situation, a specialized team comprising medical rescue paramedics, maritime rescue technicians, and rope access specialists, working in partnership with Rope Access Inspection (RAI), was deployed to facilitate a safe evacuation. The patient was successfully transferred without incident to a shore-based facility for further medical care.

This operation underscores the importance of rapid response capabilities and interagency collaboration in ensuring safety at sea. GMSRS extends its appreciation to all involved parties for their professionalism and expertise.
