Global Medical Safety and Risk Solutions (GMSRS) is seeking a highly competent and self-sufficient Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic or Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) for an upcoming remote site-based medical deployment in Southern Region of Tanganyika Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
This is an active recruitment for a six-month project supporting a small to medium-sized operational team in a remote and logistically challenging environment. The successful candidate will function as the sole clinician onsite and must be confident in independent clinical decision-making.
Minimum Requirements
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as:
- Advanced Life Support Paramedic, or
- Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP)
- Current HPCSA registration in good standing
- CPD compliant in accordance with HPCSA requirements
- CPG compliant with required upgrades in place
- Valid certifications:
- ACLS
- ATLS or ITLS
- BLS
- Primary language: English (verbal and written proficiency essential)
- French language proficiency advantageous
- Valid passport suitable for international deployment

- Independent clinical assessment and decision-making ability
- Ability to operate as a sole healthcare practitioner in a remote setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset
- Basic computer literacy with Microsoft 365 proficiency preferred
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary healthcare, emergency care and first response services onsite
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and initiate appropriate treatment
- Manage follow-up care and ongoing patient monitoring
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation and patient logs
- Coordinate and manage onsite medical emergencies
- Compile and submit site-based medical and incident reports
- Maintain medical equipment and pharmaceutical control in line with governance standards
Advantageous Experience
- Previous deployment experience in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or Central Africa
- Experience working in remote or resource-limited environments
- Exposure to tropical diseases and remote primary healthcare delivery
- HSE background or experience supporting operational project teams

Remuneration
Industry-related remuneration. Compensation will be discussed with shortlisted candidates based on qualifications and experience.
