Role Overview

We are recruiting professional technical rescuers to join our adhoc SAR teams for high-risk, time-critical operations. This role is mission-focused and ideal for rescue swimmers and technical rope rescue professionals looking to contribute their expertise in support of offshore and onshore rescue missions.

You will play a key role in maritime and aviation-based operations, vessel-based extractions, and wilderness SAR. Rescuers must be available for both daytime and nighttime missions and operate confidently in high-pressure environments.

Minimum Requirements

  • First Aid Level 3 (or higher)
  • Valid Aquatic or Surf Rescue certification
  • Valid High Angle Rope Rescue certification
  • Proof of medical and physical fitness, including swim capability
  • Strong team communication and situational awareness
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft 365 advantageous)
  • Ability to operate independently and follow mission protocols
  • Own reliable transport to operational base, ideally within 30-60 minutes from activation

Preferred Experience & Certifications

  • Previous experience in:
    • Technical rescue
    • Rescue swimming
    • Offshore or wilderness SAR
  • Additional certifications:
    • Aviation Rescue
    • Wilderness Search and Rescue
    • HUET
    • BOSIET / PST / PSSR
  • Experience working with multi-agency SAR teams or in remote access operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute search and rescue operations as a rescue swimmer and/or high-angle technician
  • Support medical teams during patient access, extrication, or recovery
  • Operate within helicopter and vessel SAR missions
  • Maintain accurate incident and mission documentation
  • Participate in debriefings and post-incident reporting

Ongoing Commitment

  • Must be available for project-based deployments
  • Participation in scheduled training and simulation exercises
  • Subject to quarterly proficiency testing, including physical and swim assessments
